Comments: The date is certainly not correct. Perhaps it is the concert they did the same day as the KQED-tv show. In this case the correct date is 29 Apr 1970. This record is quite listenable. The voices are good. The beginning of Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun and the end of A Saucerful Of Secrets ar missing. -PATRICK

This *IS* the 29 april 70 concert, beyond every shadow of doubt. Sound quality and performance are very good for an early 1970 recording 2 things however. 1) ASOS is missing the end bit. This is because the only existing master for this show is missing it (cf A journey) 2) However what pisses me off is that they screwed up STC.. the copy (umpteenth generation) of the master tape I have shows the floyd showing of the weirdest sound effects ever. However this is missing here.

General conclusion: Nice try, but try again mr Roio maker -GERHARD

Audience recording, very little crowd noise. Occasional distortion and flutter, but good overall sound. ASOS fades out during the drumming in the middle; otherwise complete. Good set, with curious version of STCFTHOTS - contains several chords from Interstellar Overdrive. Highly recommended. -ANON

The footstep sequence in Cymbaline is shorter than most, & very quiet. The Embryo features a Seagull section similar to Echoes. A Saucerful of Secrets gets cut short during the Syncopated Pandemonium section. Atom Heart Mother starts off with a sound affect something like the diesel engine of a canal boat sailing past. Sound quality is very good considering it's age, no audience noise except applause between songs, so possibly a soundboard recording.

Dave Gilmour (Waters?) was in a talkative mood before Atom Heart Mother he says:- "When we're in England, we're making a new album at the moment, & this next thing we're going to play is gonna be one side of it. Also we're taking a break when we've finished this. It seems to have gone very quickly this evening, maybe we've been playing really fast. Anyway we are so don't go away when we leave the stage, we are coming back, it won't be very long." Note he didn't refer to AHM by name, & he is implying that it has yet to be released. AHM was released 11 days before the date given on the cover, so the date is doubtful, but probably within a few months of being right. Before Green is The Colour:- "We're gonna do two things coming run together now. The first is the song called 'Green Is The Colour' which is about being on Ibiza & the second is an instrumental off our last album Ummagumma which is called 'Careful With That Axe Eugene'." And before A Saucerful Of Secrets:- "This is tha last tune we're gonna play... if you can call it a tune, & it's the title track of the album before last.. before last, & it's called A Saucerful of Secrets. It's the last thing we're gonna play, & thanks very much for coming & listening." -ANON
